Get Rid of Link Blindness and Add Value for Readers

I was fortunate enough to be asked to be on the beta tester team of WPHypnolinks, by the plugin author – Andy Bailey.

Maybe Andy recognised I tend to fumble around, test features, ask questions and ask for functionality features that I would find highly useful, as a blog and website owner.

Or maybe I was just lucky to be included.

Link Blindness

As a general reader of websites, I know myself that I have what is commonly referred to as ‘Link Blindness’.

Very similar to Advertising blindness when your consciousness simply overlooks website advertising banners and the like.

When there’s links to be clicked on, I often overlook them and continue reading.

Why does link blindness hurt both the reader as well as the website owner?

Website links tend to generally direct the reader to something of value and relevancy, relating to the article they’re reading.

Website owners WANT you to click the link to give you more related and helpful information – they obviously then get value since you might then want to visit again.

Clicking a link is a win-win situation.
