OK, repeat after me:
Rain, rain, go away
Rain, rain, go away
What’s Going On?
I don’t know about you but all this continual rain, here in South East Queensland, is really peeving me off.
OK, maybe it’s because I just left my umbrella on the train into work, this morning and have gotten a little damp.
But …. what’s going on with this weather?
It Isn’t Due to The Green House Effect
Personal Opinion Time. Even before Al Gore’s movie, I maintained an opinion that weather changes are simply part of a much larger and longer term planetary cycle. The Earth has been around for millions of years. The oceans and atmosphere are continually mixing and changing – and they’re each freaking huge.
To that end, humans have only been around and recording weather changes for hundreds of years (if that). We’re completely clueless when it comes to these planetary cycles.
A rather amusing and personal example was a few years ago. We (previous wife) had a pool. The region was also going through a drought and water restrictions were in force. The Local Government decided to enforce the installation of water tanks, pool covers and rain water diversion pipes, for pool owners.
While I can see some sense in this, I also said at the time that this drought would be cyclic and it would turn out that these enforcements would result in a waste of effort and expense.
Well, guess what?
Six months later, after we’d installed all this stuff, it started raining … South East Queensland has since been inundated with rain, we’ve had floods and the wet season continues.
That said …
Rain, rain, go away
Rain, rain, go away

Yeah, sorry to hear that Mitch :)
